iiNet

iiNet specialises in broadband plans, especially Naked DSL, but also has a range of residential phone plans plus Web hosting and domain registration.

Broadband Plans

There are seven ADSL2+ plans ranging in monthly price according to peak and off-peak quota limits. The lowest priced plan allows for a peak and off-peak allowance of 5 GB. The highest plan at the same speed offers an allowance of 90 GB for peak and off-peak. For the first four lowest priced plans, peak periods are timed from 8 AM till 2 AM, whilst off-peak periods are from 2 AM to 8 AM. Once the data limit is reached on these plans speed is reduced to 64 kB per second.

For the top three plans the peak period is time from 9 AM until 1 AM whilst off-peak periods are from 1 AM till 9 AM. Once data limit is reached on these plans speed is reduced to 128 kB per second.

When you sign up for a 24 month contract you are eligible for a rebate on the purchase of a new modem. These savings will vary from time to time so it’s best to check.

Special Contract Provision

iiNet has what they call a fair contract guarantee. This means that you can change your plan at any time even when you sign up for a 24 month contract. This is a point of difference from other providers and gives you a great option if you need to reconsider your needs.

Naked DSL

iiNet has 6 Naked DSL home plans. The lowest and cheapest monthly plan offers 5 GB for peak and off-peak whilst the highest plan offers 75 GB peak and off-peak.

Shaping occurs as follows:
- First four plans:
  - Peak period 8 AM to 2 AM; off-peak 2 AM to 8 AM.
- Top two plans:
  - Peak period 9 AM to 1 AM; off-peak 1 AM to 9 AM.
  - If you sign up for a 24 month contract you receive a discounted connection fee and discounts on the Naked DSL modem.

Mobile Broadband

There are three mobile broadband plans offered for 3, 6 and 7 Gb respectively. Each plan is for a minimum of 24 months and includes a free key modem delivered free to your house.

VoIP

iiNet has a low-cost monthly VoIP plan which offers free VoIP calls to other iiNet numbers. Both local and national calls are charged at the same rate and are untimed.

International calls are priced per minute.

Calls to mobile phones is timed in 30 second blocks irrespective of the time of day.
