Teltra’s main competitors have said that the coalitions plans to axe the proposed national broadband network would take Australia back to the internet dark ages and put Telstra back in the monopoly position they had in 2004.

While the national network has not won support all round the issue is that the coalition has made the announcement that it would axe the network and therefore may not split up Telstra without providing any real alternative plan to take Australia to the next level of home broadband and provide businesses and consumers the fast broadband plans that are in demand.
